The KLINGER Group

Mission

Wherever two surfaces in pipelines, vessels or engines have to be connected with a seal, or fluids have to be controlled you will find Klinger products.

Our valves and gaskets are widely used in energy production, in the pulp and paper, petrochemical and chemical industries in demanding applications, where abrasive and aggressive media under high temperature and pressure have to be handled and contained safely.

We believe that our customers are entitled to the highest standards of quality and reliability in the procurement and use of our products and services and they will find these standards throughout the world in their relations with Klinger.

About us

The group of independent Klinger companies.

Klinger is one of the leading suppliers of industrial sealing and fluid control products worldwide.

With 35 operating companies throughout the world Klinger manufactures, sells and provides services to virtually all industries where fluids or gases have to be safely contained in pipelines and vessels such as petrochemical and chemical, paper, mining, steel, water and food.

Klinger employs around 2.000 people worldwide with a global turnover of €400 million.

Klinger’s operating philosophy is built on product innovation and problem solving along with unsurpassed technical support and dedication to customer service.

The group of independent Klinger companies has been a privately owned business since 1886 and is still controlled by the Klinger family.

The founder Richard Klinger was just 26 years old when he opened his own workshop in Vienna. Interested in the problems associated with glass tube indicators on steam engines, he designed a water level gauge constructed on the reflection principle.

He was awarded a patent for his invention in 1890 and opened the first Klinger factory in Gumpoldskirchen, Austria, which over the years has been extended and still is one of Klinger’s largest production site.

Problems with sealing his new invention were a major factor for Richard Klinger and he was forced to look for a solution. He created the revolutionary calendered compressed fibre gasket material using a mixture of rubber and fibres.

Still today Klinger is the largest manufacturer of this type of gasket material producing it with the latest process technology in plants in Austria, Australia, Brazil, India, South Africa and United States.

Sealing

Klinger develops, manufactures and sells a complete range of static sealing materials and products for general industrial applications.

Gaskets made directly by Klinger or from Klinger materials are found virtually everywhere were fluids or gases have to be safely contained in pipelines and vessels.

Key user industries are the petrochemical and chemical industries, food, paper, mining, steel, shipbuilding, original equipment manufacturers and many more.
